University groups (HSG)

How does it work?

University groups (HSG) are a relatively new development and have been in existence since the end of the 24th summer term.

University groups (HSG), also known as student clubs, are intended to give students the opportunity to play an active role in shaping campus life, focusing on a specific subject area.

Examples of this include:

  • Leisure groups such as:
    • Board games club
    • Climbing group
    • Chess club
  • Group for networking and exchanging ideas with like-minded people, such as:
    • Language
    • Religion
    • Advocacy (sustainability, etc.)
  • etc.

The conditions under which you can set up an HSG can be found in the guidelines for university groups.

This also enables existing groups to become an official part of the THWS. Once registered, each HSG receives a functional email address in the format ###.hsg@thws.de. The HSG is featured on the Student Union’s website (a dedicated section is possible), and, within certain limits, it can also make use of the THWS’s promotional channels. To submit the application, the form must be completed and sent to office.stv@thws.de.

What then?

Going forward, the university groups will then be supported by the Culture Department. You can get in touch with the Wends here at spr.stv[at]thws.de
