Würzburg VS Schweinfurt
Aim of the project:
The Würzburg and Schweinfurt campuses of THWS are engaged in a friendly competition in which students from both cities compete against each other in various disciplines.
A series of events will be organized, both online and in person.
The aim is to collect points in order to choose the winning location at the end of the semester or year, which will host a big graduation ceremony.
Structure of the competition system:
1. Presence events (major sporting events):
Sports competitions such as soccer, basketball, volleyball, table tennis, badminton and dodgeball will be held once a month. These events may be organized in cooperation with university sports.
2. Online events:
Twice a month there are online competitions, including board games, gaming and poker. These events are streamed so that spectators can also participate. Several events can take place at the same time.
3. Presence events (smaller events):
In addition, there are smaller, more informal competitions such as beer pong, flunkyball and board games. These take place at regular intervals.
4. pay events (optional paid events):
A participation fee could be charged for special events such as paintball, laser tag, bowling, go-karting, billiards or mini golf. However, these should be seen as optional additions.
Points system:
The winning team receives points for each victory in a competition. Additional points are awarded for each participating player. The system ensures that points are awarded even.
At the end of the competition, the location with the most points will be crowned the overall winner and may host the closing ceremony.
Organizational procedure:
For each event, there are 1-2 organizers who coordinate the process, record results (e.g. with screenshots of the winners), and manage the stream (for online events).
Larger events should take place towards the end of the semester to intensify the competition.
The minimum number of players from one location is automatically the maximum number of players from the other location in order to have exactly the same number of participants
